Quick & Easy Chocolate Cake My husband and I enjoy this delicious easy to make chocolate cake. No butter or eggs were needed to make this cake. And yes it’s quite delicious!


  • ·cake ingredients:
  • 1-1/2 call-purpose flour
  • 1 csugar
  • 1/4 chershey’s special dark cocoa powder
  • 1 tspbaking soda
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • ·additional cake ingredients:
  • 1 ccool water
  • 6 Tbspvegetable oil
  • 1 Tbspdistilled white vinegar 5% acidity
  • 1 tspvanilla extract
  • ·frosting ingredients:
  • 4 Tbspbutter, softened
  • 2 cpowdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsphershey’s special dark cocoa powder
  • 1 tspvanilla extract

How to Make Quick & Easy Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Grease the inside of an 8×8-inch square cake pan. Then set pan aside.
  3. In a medium size bowl sift together, the cake ingredients, then set the bowl aside.
  4. In a measuring cup, which holds 2 cups, combine the water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add liquid ingredients into bowl, and gently stir until there are no lumps. (Stir for about 30 seconds.)
  6. Pour into baking pan, and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake completely in the pan, then frost the cake. Sprinkle a few decorative Rainbow Jimmies on top of the frosting. (I then place the frosted cake in the refrigerator so the frosting will firm up.) Then cut the cake, and serve.
  8. Additional note: I always cover the cake after I place it in the refrigerator.
