I am pretty sure that everyone has this recipe, it has been around for years! My Mom made this way back in the day and I just made one last weekend. It is still the very best to me (of course, it makes me think of my mom and chatting over coffee).
Blue Ribbon Recipe
An easy coffee cake to throw together if you’re having last-minute company or want a sweet treat. A yellow boxed cake mix is an excellent base and there is a distinct vanilla flavor from it. It’s a little on the sweet side and the filling adds that classic cinnamon flavor and crunch from the walnuts. Perfect for dessert or enjoy with an afternoon coffee or tea.
Note: For styling, we dusted the coffee cake with powdered sugar. This is pretty sweet and would be fine without any topping.
